Get ready to spend a fun Sunday morning in the park with your furry four-legged best friend.
Penson Park in Kallangur will play host to a barking mad event with Pooches in the Park on Sunday, 28 July.
This year is the third Pooches in the Park, with Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism CEO Natassia Wheeler highlighting the event as an ultimate Sunday morning outing with your beloved pooch.
“Pet owners and their furry companions can indulge in the charm of our pet-themed market stalls, a captivating entertainment line-up, delectable offerings from food trucks, plus discover an abundance of paw-some activities in our entertainment precinct,” Ms Wheeler said.
Pooches in the Park will certainly celebrate and spoil the furry-legged members of the family with a doggy makeover station, doggy ice cream and market stalls featuring a variety of pet products, accessories and tasty treats that your dog will love.
Presented by the City of Moreton Bay and delivered by Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism, Pooches in the Park is part of the City of Moreton Bay community events program, featuring an event across Moreton Bay almost every weekend, providing easy access for all residents to enjoy a variety of free community events.
“We know the residents of the City of Moreton Bay enjoy exploring the local area with their furry friends, so creating dog-friendly events in the calendar was essential,” Ms Wheeler said.
As a bonus to this special doggy day, it coincides with National Tree Day, Australia’s largest tree planting and nature care event. So, along with enjoying some time out with your furry friends, you can get your hands dirty and help plant some trees.
“Together with the City of Moreton Bay, Pooches in the Park will offer event attendees the opportunity to give back to their community by planting a tree while you’re at the event,” Ms Wheeler said. “Registrations for the tree planting will be available through the City of Moreton Bay. We will share the link to register via the Facebook event once it’s available, so keep an eye out for that one.”
