Looking for a fresh local spot to watch a game, grab dinner or drinks? The newly opened Dakabin Hotel might just be your next go-to.
Rob Comiskey, one of three directors of the Comiskey Group, said Dakabin isn’t just another location – it’s a fast-growing community with massive potential.
“What really drew us in was the chance to help shape a community hub from the ground up,” Rob said.
“We build places where people come together. Places with great food, good entertainment, a bit of nightlife, and a strong sense of community. Dakabin was calling out for something like that, and we knew we could bring that vision to life.”
Food, Fun & Future Plans at Dakabin Hotel
The Dakabin Hotel features a dual-kitchen restaurant serving a mix of Western classics and Eastern dishes, a Sin Bin Sports Bar, gaming room, electronic darts, pool tables, a kids’ arcade, fireplace, half basketball court and a club with live DJs on Friday and Saturday nights.
“There’s always a bit of pressure following in the footsteps of our other venues like Eatons Hill and Sandstone Point,” Rob said.
“But this isn’t our first rodeo. We’ve learnt if certain staples aren’t on the menu, people will definitely let you know about it! Our Western menu holds strong with those pub favourites. As for the Eastern Kitchen, we were really inspired by the rise of Asian-fusion cuisine.”
With big plans for future functions and further developments, it’s clear the Dakabin Hotel is just the beginning.
“The City of Moreton Bay is such a vibrant, fast-growing region and with so many new people moving in,” Rob said.
“There’s a real need for great local spots and community hubs – places to eat, catch up with mates and maybe even have a bit of a dance on a Friday or Saturday night.
“We’ve got a few irons in the fire. We’re always on the lookout for the next opportunity to bring another iconic Queensland venue to life.
“While I can’t give too much away just yet, let’s just say, watch this space – there’s definitely more to come from the Comiskey Group in the City of Moreton Bay.”
