The festive season has arrived!
There are festive markets for everyone across the Moreton Bay region, including long-time community favourites and first-timers.
The organisers of the Kallangur Twilight Markets are among the newcomers this year, hosting the first Moreton Bay Christmas Village Markets. They hope to match the famous Christmas villages seen overseas.
Founder of the Kallangur Twilight Markets, Jesse C, said they had spent the year planning for something special for the Moreton Bay region.
“This year is just the start, and we aspire to see it flourish into something exciting for our area to enjoy each year, getting bigger and better to match some of the famous Christmas villages you see in European countries, where lots of effort is poured into creating something you would normally only see in a movie,” Jesse said.
Held across three evenings from Friday, 12 December to Sunday, 14 December, the event aims to be different from the regular twilight markets, offering a wider variety of stalls and entertainment.
“There will be a lot more stallholders with unique products to help visitors find great gifts for Christmas, there will be Christmas lighting, a great variety of food trucks and a few surprises up our sleeves which we can’t reveal just yet,” Jesse said.
“We truly hope to create an alternative Christmas shopping solution to help reduce the stress and crowded conditions often associated with the holiday season.”
Community Markets Across the Region
Local businesses and makers will also be in the spotlight at the North Lakes Sports Club’s ninth Night Market-style event early this month.
The club’s Senior Marketing Manager, Veronica Vivien, said the one-night Christmas Alleyway Night Market would be a vibrant space for everyone to enjoy.
“It’s an event to bring the community together and celebrate the festive season in a vibrant atmosphere showcasing local talent and businesses,” she said.
“The event is pet-friendly and a great way to celebrate the season with family, friends, and the wider North Lakes community.”
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
