If your teen is dreaming of writing their own songs, this free school holiday workshop in North Lakes is the perfect place to start.
Local musician and founder of Imagine Music, Aaron Shanahan, is running a hands-on songwriting session for young creatives aged 12 to 17. Open to all skill levels, the workshop will explore everything from song structure and melody to chords, lyrics and embracing a creative mindset.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re an accomplished writer or you’re just curious about where to start, you’re welcome to come along and connect with other musicians,” Aaron said.
“We’ll explore techniques to get you into a flow state and use current technology to help make songwriting feel less daunting. Most of all, we want to show how fun songwriting can be!”
The interactive workshop will also touch on the psychology of being creative and provide practical tools to kickstart your teen’s musical journey.
It’s a great opportunity to learn from a professional, build confidence and be inspired in a relaxed and friendly setting.
