For the third year in a row, The Lakes College, a Prep to Year 12 independent co-educational college in North Lakes, has ranked among the top three schools in the Moreton region for NAPLAN results, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and student growth.
Their primary students have once again achieved exceptional outcomes, securing the number one top-performing school in the region for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, our secondary students maintained impressive standards, achieving an average score of 602, making TLC the second top-performing secondary school in the region.
This remarkable achievement highlights the strong partnership between families and the college, as well as the dedication of staff in providing a rich and engaging learning environment. At TLC, students are encouraged to chase their personal bests, striving to surpass their own limits in and out of the classroom.
Teaching Approaches Driving Student Success
The college’s primary school has greatly benefited from the Walker Learning approach, a research-backed method that gives young learners a strong foundation. A systematic focus on phonics further equips students with essential literacy skills that support lifelong learning.
In the secondary school, emphasis on critical and creative thinking ensures students develop into future-focused, independent thinkers who consistently aim for academic excellence.
The Lakes College remains committed to continuous improvement, exploring innovative ways to enhance educational outcomes for all students. This NAPLAN “hat trick” is a testament to the collaborative effort of students, staff, and families, and reflects the college’s ongoing pursuit of excellence.
