Brendale’s Method Tattoo Coffee Bar is not only a coffee shop, bar, and tattoo studio, but also an exciting venue for live music – including regular open mic nights.

The sessions, held on the first Friday and third Saturday of the month, have become a staple for local talent and feature a diverse mix of music, from jazz and blues to rock, heavy metal, rap, and even beatboxing, with much more on offer to the public.

According to co-owner Jada Goss, each open mic night gives people the opportunity to enjoy not only the live entertainment, but also delicious food, drinks and even specialty flash tattoos.

“Whether you’re a musician or simply a fan, there’s always something exciting happening here at Method,” she said.

Musicians will find it easy to take part, with the only requirement being to sign their name on Method’s performers’ board (and getting three songs to showcase their talent), while patrons can “enjoy great tunes, grab a bite, and get inked all in one night.”

A Creative Hub Supporting Local Artists

For this eclectic enterprise, Jada said that incorporating music into their warehouse-style space was the natural next step in their enduring journey (complete with a humble origin story).

“For 22 years, we’ve been part of the Brendale community – what started as an airbrush art business has grown into the unique creative hub you see today,” she said.

Alongside their signature open mics, the venue also hosts a variety of special musical events throughout the year.

“We’ve had the pleasure of hosting some incredible talent, including artists like Larry Mitchell, Black Star, Public Nuisance, Midwest, Deep Horizon, and Jade Clark – who went on to compete at the Country Music Festival,” Jada said.

Jada said that co-owner Craig Goss’ vision and passion had been instrumental in the growth of Method and gave thanks to all contributors (with special mentions to Marco Trimarchi and Jon Merigan).

“We are incredibly proud of the support and encouragement Method provides to both new and established artists, and we owe it all to the amazing talent that graces our stage,” she said.
