Groovin’ in the Green is back, bringing a free afternoon of timeless tunes and family fun to Deception Bay on Saturday, 10 October.

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said this time, the popular community event will be held at beautiful Apex Park.

“Gather your friends and family, pack a picnic rug, and settle in for a relaxed afternoon,” he said.

The event will showcase emerging Moreton Bay talent, with a mix of country-pop, modern favourites, and classic sing-alongs, leading into a finale from headliners The Wet Fish.

Local musician Ander Kinnara is looking forward to returning to the event once again.

“I’ve played Groovin’ in the Green before as a solo act and with another band, but this time I get to bring my very own band along, which I’m really excited about,” he said.

“People can expect plenty of energy, some great live music and, hopefully, a fair bit of dancing. I can’t wait to bring the band to Deception Bay and get people on their feet!”

There will also be plenty to enjoy off stage, with local food vendors, a licensed bar, plus free face painting, circus workshops, aerial performances and roving entertainment.

“There’s something pretty special about these events,” Ander said.”They’re relaxed, they’re right in the heart of the community, and you get this great mix of families, friends, and neighbours all coming together in their own backyard.”
