The countdown to Christmas is on, and it’s time to jingle all the way to North Lakes!
Held on Saturday, 29 November, the much-loved community Christmas carols are an afternoon the whole family can enjoy, with live entertainment, food trucks, and of course, a special visit from Santa himself.
Luke Edwards, CEO of Tourism and Events Moreton Bay, said the annual event brings the whole community together.
“The North Lakes Christmas Carols are more than just an event, it’s a cherished tradition that brings the North Lakes Community together in the true spirit of the season,” Luke said. “This event creates those magical festive moments from singing along to Christmas Carols, to snapping a photo with Santa and of course, the fireworks finale.”
The main stage will come to life with performances from local artists and community groups, filling the night with classic carols and festive cheer, while roving entertainers will keep the Christmas spirit alive throughout the evening.
Families can get a head start on Christmas shopping at the twilight markets, featuring handmade gifts, jewellery, and of course, toys. Food trucks will also be serving everything from sweet festive treats to all the savoury favourites.
A Beloved Tradition for the North Lakes Community
Luke said the North Lakes Christmas Carols are special because they kick off the Christmas spirit around the region.
“As the opening event of our signature carols series, North Lakes sets the festive tone for the entire region,” Luke said. “While all our carol events share that same magical Christmas spirit, North Lakes is unique in its celebration of homegrown talent, giving our young dancers and singers the chance to shine on stage and showcase what makes this community so special.”
Santa’s Village is set to delight the kids with crafts, face painting, and the North Pole Express Letterbox, plus a special visit from Santa himself for photos and Christmas wishes.
Luke said the carols have become a much-loved annual outing for many locals.
“For many families, it’s become their own family tradition; they meet up with the same group of friends each year, set up their picnic blankets and create lovely family memories.”
