For the first time ever, Moreton Kids Festival will be free this year.

The event will be held at Pine Rivers Park in Strathpine on Saturday, 14 June, offering a day full of adventure, activities, and entertainment for all the little ones to enjoy.

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the event being free this year would ensure more families could attend and experience the much-loved event.

“We know many families are feeling the pressure of rising costs, so making Moreton Kids Festival free for the first time was an important decision to ensure every child can experience a day of fun, connection and community,” Mayor Flannery said.

In fact, this year, Moreton Kids Festival will offer a few new surprises, including an expanded program full of live entertainment, community activations, and interactive zones.

Entertainment and Festival Highlights

One excited entertainer will be joining the lineup for an out-of-this-world performance full of magic.

Tiffany Richmond from Poppy Galactic will be taking the stage this year and said that audiences could expect a visual spectacle.

“Our costumes are next level, if I do say so myself,” Tiffany said. “There will be three fun, larger-than-life characters on stage for the kids to dance with.

“We do a fun set of singalong kids’ dance songs that usually gets the mums and dads on the dancefloor too.

“And you can expect to go on a few intergalactic adventures, zooming out into space with us on our rocket ship.”

Poppy Galactic first started as a creative outlet for Tiffany when her three sons were still little, as a way to make fun music for them.

“…I began writing children’s songs with my boys’ dad, who is a drummer, and a few years later we were playing the kids’ stage at Splendour in the Grass!” Tiffany said.

“The essence of Poppy Galactic is seeing our Earth from a different ‘galactic’ perspective. One that inspires awe and creates a feeling of planetary stewardship.”

Due to the event being free and anticipating record crowds, families are encouraged to plan ahead and arrive early this year.
