It’s time to dust off your 70s-style platform shoes, because Dancing Queen The ABBA Tribute Show is bringing the ultimate ABBA party to town this month.
Set to take place on Saturday, 30 May, at the North Lakes Hotel, the interactive show promises a nostalgic evening of music, laughter, and dancing.
The tribute is led by husband-and-wife duo, Eilannin and Jon Harris-Black, who step into the roles of the iconic pop groups’ Agnetha and Benny. The couple have been performing together since 2019, but they said that this particular show came about after the pandemic.
“The Dancing Queen show came about in 2022, fresh after the COVID lockdowns in Melbourne,” Eilannin said. “The show has now recently had a revamp, including new custom replica costumes and a new song list, so North Lakes will enjoy a newly revamped show.”
Also in the cast are Ian Andrew as Bjorn and Sarah Glynne as Anni-Frid.
An Interactive ABBA Party Experience
According to Eilannin, attendees can expect to hear all the ABBA classics they know and love, such as Money, Money, Money, Mamma Mia, and Thank You for the Music, performed with high energy and plenty of crowd interaction. The show is described as an immersive experience, with sing-alongs, dancing, and games, with the performers frequently weaving through the audience to make everyone feel part of the action.
“We also do some interactive games and the performers rove a lot in the crowd,” Eilannin said. “So it’s much more like an ABBA party – rather than just your traditional sit and watch show.”
This tour comes after sold-out performances at the Adelaide Fringe festival earlier this year. Eilannin added that there was a particular reason she and Jon were looking forward to this leg of the tour.
“Our May 2026 tour in Queensland will also be the Queensland debut for the show, so we’re very excited,” she said.
Tickets include a two-course meal and are expected to sell quickly. Find more information or get your tickets here.
