Learn to live more sustainably and discover smarter ways to manage household waste at this month’s Ecofest.

The Moreton Bay Ecofest, presented by City of Moreton Bay, is returning to UniSC in Petrie on Saturday, 7 November for a day filled with eco-friendly tips, knowledge, and fun.

ABC’s War on Waste host Craig Reucassel will be headlining the event this year and said he is looking forward to sharing insight into the program.

“I will be talking about the War on Waste – what we have achieved and what we can do next and taking questions from the audience,” Craig said.

“I will also be interviewing some local scientists and community groups who are doing their bit to improve our environment.”

Attendees can also expect to meet experts in sustainability, community groups, gardening specialists, conservationists, and professionals working to reduce fashion waste.

Headline Speakers, Interactive Workshops, and Eco-Friendly Tips

Craig said he enjoys being part of an event focused on sustainability and meeting the community.

“(I) always love walking around the stalls and seeing the small businesses and community groups who often have some great solutions,” Craig said.

“It’s a great free day out. Get some food, listen to interesting speakers and wander the stalls. Always nice produce from your local area on sale (too).”

There will be a variety of hands-on activities, workshops, and interactive experiences for all ages.

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said Moreton Bay Ecofest would bring the community together on a large scale.

“City of Moreton Bay is leading the way, going green as we grow, and this free community event provides practical tips residents can easily adopt at home,” he said.

“Craig Reucassel’s insights will show that sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated, breaking down the big issues into simple actions we can all take.

“I encourage people to come along and get involved; even small changes at home can make a big difference.”

There will be free parking onsite and Petrie Station is located right next to the event precinct.
