Get ready for a weekend filled with greenery, fun and unique finds at the Pine Rivers Garden and Plant Fair.

This popular community event returns to the Pine Rivers Showgrounds on May 17 and 18, bringing thousands of plants and plenty of entertainment for garden lovers of all kinds.

Chantal de Vere, who has been organising the event since 2018, said there would be many new vendors this year, alongside familiar faces.

“We have, on offer, cottage garden plants from John and Carol Kerkin, and Graham Mitchell of Clouds End Farm,” Chantal said.

“The absolute best growers of cacti are Katrina and Robin Parry, who have many rare types as well as the more common.

“Gotcha Plants sells carnivorous plants, such as sundews and pitcher plants.

“For rarer plants, we love The Cute Little Plant Shop and Steve Flood from Mellum Creek Nursery. Steve is well known for his incredible aroids and Colocasias.

“Infusion Chilli Farms bring around 50 or so species of chillies and they are beautiful as well as edible of course.

“Natives Plus sells a huge selection of native plants such as grevillea and bottlebrush but also other shrubs.

“Lots of lovely garden ornaments, rusty metal art, patio decorations, big pots, small pots and gorgeous ceramics from Wendy Britton Ceramics of Noosa and our local North Pine Country Park Potters.

“Have’a’Chat is one of my favourites as Denise pots up quirky pots or things she has found to recycle.

“Short Stuff Creations are fantastic for kiddies – lovely little clothes for fairies and items for fairy gardens.”

The long list of vendors also includes returning favourites Simply Succulents, Caboolture-based RedFox Orchids, CJ’s Fernery, Beauvale Daylilies, Elimbah business Joyous Jams and many more.

Talks, Troupes and Tasty Treats

Entertainment will include Bohemienne Dreams Dance Troupe, who will add to the fun with world-fusion-style music. Food trucks and the Burpengary and Districts Men’s Shed sausage sizzle will be on-site, offering a wide variety of options.

Guest speakers on the Saturday include florist Leah Robinson, Jillian Coomb from Searles Garden Products, and Jordan Alexander of The Shed Organics, who will discuss living soil and organic gardening.

This year, the fair will also introduce the Lucky Duck Hunt, where attendees can win prizes by finding hidden ducks around the event. There will also be a raffle with prizes including vouchers from Plant Shack Deception Bay.

Parking is available on the street with some disability parking spaces provided.

Entry is $8 for those aged 16 and over. Get your tickets here.
