The Mystic Journey Markets are set to weave their magic this month, transforming the Deception Bay Community Hall into a vibrant haven of mysticism.

This immersive indoor event brings together local witches, artisans and curious souls, offering visitors healing crystals, handmade crafts, candles, potions, tarot readings and alternative therapies, all under one roof.

Market co-founder Jules Somerville said the idea for the event blossomed from a shared passion between her and her daughter Kirily.

“We noticed that most of the more spiritual or alternative markets were all happening on the southside of Brisbane,” she said.

“Living in the Moreton Bay region ourselves, we found it a bit of a mission to travel every time – and we thought, ‘Why isn’t there something like this closer to home?’ We wanted something that felt more aligned with our interests – more spiritual, and something that happened regularly. So, we decided to create it ourselves.

“The Mystic Journey Markets are a celebration of spiritual connection, personal growth and community. The markets have now been running for a few months, and it’s been so beautiful to see the community grow around it.

“One memorable story was a woman who came in grieving, and after connecting with one of our mediums, left feeling lighter, more hopeful and deeply moved.”

The markets aren’t just about magic, they are a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere with delicious food and drinks available on-site. Whether you’re a seasoned spiritual seeker or simply “magic-curious”, Jules said there was something for everyone.

She added that she expected the upcoming Deception Bay event to be especially popular with the date landing just before Halloween.

“This event is always one of our most anticipated, and with it falling just before Halloween, we definitely expect it to be a popular one!” she said. “There’s always such great energy in the air, and people really get into the spirit of it.

“We often see people in witches’ hats, crystals around their necks. While dressing up isn’t required, it’s absolutely welcome.”
