Encircle Neighbourhood Centres run regular craft groups and social sessions where locals come together to create and connect. City of Moreton Bay Galleries: Redcliffe, Caboolture and Pine Rivers
For those looking to explore a more artistic craft, local galleries regularly host artist-led workshops. Sessions can include painting, drawing, mixed-media projects and other hands-on activities that encourage participants to experiment with new art techniques in a welcoming, creative environment.
Until 18 July, Pine Rivers Art Gallery will host QAGOMA’s Kids on Tour program by artist Vipoo Srivilasa. This program includes a ‘Creative Space’ pop-up with hands-on art-making activities. Caboolture Regional Art Gallery and Redcliffe Art Gallery also host monthly ‘Making Time’ art workshops with artist and expressive arts therapist Tira Dowling.
Pottery and Ceramics: Redcliffe and Old Petrie Town
Working with clay is another tactile way to spend a winter afternoon. The Redcliffe Pottery Group and North Pine Country Park Potters Inc at Old Petrie Town both offer opportunities to learn pottery and ceramics skills, take part in workshops and enjoy the slower pace that comes with creating by hand. At The Craft Haven in Kippa-Ring, visitors can paint their own pottery, with finished pieces professionally glazed and kiln-fired for collection within seven to 10 days.
