The inaugural Bancroft Business Awards, hosted by Chris Whiting MP, took place last month, recognising local businesses and celebrating their contribution to the community.
Among the winners was Burpengary East business Buckley Road Butchery, owned by Scott Noble and Bindi Christie, which took out the People’s Choice Award.
Bindi said the team was ecstatic when they won.
“We were so chuffed that this was the award we had won and that it was People’s Choice,” Bindi said. “It actually means a lot…because it is a nudge to say that what we are doing is working and people are happy – the biggest thing is that our customers are leaving with the experience we want them to have and that is reflected in the win of the award.”
Bindi said the team strives to provide “awesome customer service”, which goes “hand in hand with quality products and a great all-round experience for our customers”.
She thanked customers “for the constant support of our shop and our family and our staff…an incredibly grateful thank you.
“As a final note, it is important to say that it is the hard work of our whole team that makes sure that every standard that we want to keep is kept. Scott and I want to give a massive shout out to the team.
“Plus, a thank you to Chris Whiting and his team for a lovely night promoting small businesses.”

Community Recognition and Future Plans
Mr Whiting congratulated Buckley Road Butchery on taking out the People’s Choice Award.
“This award is particularly special because it was decided by the people of Bancroft, making it a true reflection of the trust and support this family-owned business has earned from their customers over 12 years of being in business,” Mr Whiting said.
He said the Bancroft Business Awards were launched “to celebrate the local businesses that help our community thrive every day, and the success of this inaugural event exceeded all expectations.”
“As our first-ever Business Awards event, it was fantastic to see such a diverse mix of local businesses and to see the community rally behind them with almost 2000 votes,” he said. “That level of engagement demonstrates how much local businesses mean to the people of Bancroft.”
“This is only the beginning and we’re already looking ahead to 2027. I have plans to welcome even more businesses and introduce fresh ideas to make the Bancroft Business Awards bigger and better next year.”
