Craving a sweet treat? There are so many places in North Lakes and the surrounding suburbs to enjoy a deliciously creamy milkshake.
1. Blue Infusion
Nestled on a bend on Flinders Parade in North Lakes, Blue Infusion Café is a local favourite with its leafy backdrop and delicious breakfast options. They offer regular and thick shakes, as well as speciality shakes like nutty Nutella and blue-infused sour worms.
Rebecca Wright, Owner/Operator of Blue Infusion said she loved serving a dose of nostalgia.
“There’s nothing better than bringing back fun childhood memories,” Rebecca said. “Our customers love a creamy lime milkshake served in a cold silver milkshake cup with two straws, just like the good old days.”
It’s the perfect weekend treat for the kids and for you!
2. Sweet Republick
Sweet Republick is renowned for serving incredible ice cream and their milkshakes are a highlight! Their indulgent shakes (choose regular or thick) are made with your choice of ice cream.
Bubblegum, peppermint chip and hokey pokey are all potentials. The only problem is choosing. With stores in Griffin and Strathpine and late opening times, they’re a great after-school (or after-work!) treat.
3. Xander’s Cafe
Xander’s Cafe on Discovery Drive serves delicious milkshakes, great breakfasts and healthy smoothies. This family business is tucked away from the crowds in the relaxed Evergreen Lifestyle Centre.
You can enjoy shakes in regular flavours like strawberry and chocolate, but it’s worth trying their peanut butter or mint chocolate for something more unique. They also serve frappes – salted caramel is a highlight.
4. Baskin-Robbins
This iconic ice cream brand makes great shakes too. With a choice of milkshakes (made with one scoop of ice cream), thick shakes (made with two scoops) or ultimate shakes (can you handle three scoops drizzled with sauce, whipped cream and toppings?), you can spoil yourself. The North Lakes store is open until 10pm daily, so it’s another option for a late-night craving.
