North Lakes will become a vibrant rainbow with the return of Colour Frenzy, the perfect event for kids and families.

This year’s event will take place on 15 September, featuring a non-competitive fun run (or walk), obstacles, five colour stations, games, giveaways and more.

General Manager Sarah Morrison said there was something for everyone to enjoy at Colour Frenzy.

“We ensure that all of our events are easy to access for families,” Sarah said. “This means making sure the walk/run track is great for prams and children to run along safely.

“We have games and activities at the start to keep the young (and young at heart) entertained till start time. We also have our coffee and food vendors at the start and finish area.”

A standout feature of the event is the foam station, which Sarah described as “like having a big bubble bath outside.”

“Running and walking through the fluffy white clouds and playing in the foam pit area is a lot of fun for the young ones,” she said.

This year, Colour Frenzy aims to raise $5,000 for local animal rescue, SHAMROQ (Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute Rescue of QLD), which is dedicated to the rescue, care, welfare and rehoming of these northern dog breeds.

“Animal rescues around Australia are very important to all of us at Colour Frenzy,” Sarah said. “Our fur babies hold a special place in each of our hearts. Being able to support rescues around the country through our events is important to each of us.

“SHAMROQ is especially important to our founder, having raised and rescued malamutes himself he found himself very drawn to SHAMROQ and we have maintained our relationship with them for the past seven years and see that relationship continuing.”

Lake Eden, chosen for its facilities and access, will again serve as the event’s venue.

“We look for parks around Australia that offer easy access for everyone, that have nearby businesses that our participants might frequent,” Sarah said. “The added benefit of Lake Eden is just how stunning the parklands are. It sets a perfect backdrop for our event.”

Ticket prices are $37.50 for adults, $17.50 for children aged five to 12, and $5 for children under five.
