Abbey Medieval Festival

Celebrating seasonal events and festivals around North Lakes is like getting a front-row seat to our area’s incredible culture and community spirit. With our fantastic weather and love for the outdoors, there’s no better way to enjoy all that makes North Lakes special than through these fun gatherings.

From markets packed with local crafts and fresh produce to energetic music and dance performances that highlight our diverse heritage, there’s always something happening with these seasonal events. Whether it’s the thrill of summer carnivals, the cosy vibes of winter fairs, or the colour and excitement of spring parades, these festivals around North Lakes are all about bringing people together and having a great time.

Here is a list of all of our favourite festivals in and around North Lakes and surrounding northern suburbs of Brisbane, by month!

January Festivals

Music in the Park Scarborough

  • Date: Sunday 26 January
  • Location: Scarborough Beach Park, Scarborough

Celebrate Australia Day with friends. Take a picnic rug, fold-up chairs, water, sunscreen, and shade. Enjoy Moreton Bay entertainment and food trucks on site.

Australia Day on Bribie Island

Brennan Park and Chamber of Commerce Park play host to a cracking stage program of live music, there will be games, a few food trucks, market stalls and a good ole’ community sausage sizzle.

February Festivals

Moreton Bay Region Lunar New Year

The Moreton Bay Region Lunar New Year event brings vibrant celebrations of the East to Caboolture. It’s a family-fun evening to celebrate the start of the Chinese New Year.

Fantasy Festival

March Festivals

Brisbane Cycling Festival

The Brisbane Cycling Festival features a line-up of rides, races, events, expos, and entertainment for cyclists of all abilities.

Moreton Kids Festival

Moreton Kids Festival celebrates the wonder and boundless enthusiasm of youth, featuring a jam-packed program of family-friendly entertainment.

SummerSalt

  • Date: Saturday, 23 March 2024
  • Location: Sandstone Point.

Gather your friends and family to create lasting memories this summer with sun-filled days and a delightful atmosphere of good times at the SummerSalt Festival.

Bluewater Festival

  • Date: Thursday 28 and Friday 29 March, 2024
  • Location: Moora Park, Shorncliffe

The famous Bluewater Festival at Shorncliffe Pier offers food, markets, entertainment, live bands, kids’ activities, and fireworks in conjunction with the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.

Straddie Easter Carnival: Dunwich 

  • Date: Saturday 30 March 2024
  • Location: Dunwich, Stradbroke Island

This annual Easter community event features rides for kids, showbags, animals, market stalls, and a spectacular fireworks display.

April Festivals

Caboolture Festival

  • Date: Sunday 28 April 2024
  • Location: James St Precinct, Caboolture.

Caboolture and its surrounds are filled with live music, entertainment, art exhibitions, family-friendly activities, and more as part of the Caboolture Festival.

May Festivals

Anywhere Theatre Festival

This festival brings art and performance together in a range of performances across Moreton Bay and Brisbane.

The Hills Festival

The Hills come alive with fireworks, rides, entertainment and workshops for the month-long program of Hills Festival. Events are held in Arana Hills, Bunya, Draper, Everton Hills, Ferny Hills and Albany Creek.

Moreton Bay Multisport Festival

Held in May, the festival in Clontarf features twilight running conditions on Saturday and a triathlon on Sunday, raising funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Where We Belong Festival

Redcliffe’s biggest music festival at Picnic Hill features a showcase of headline and local bands, food trucks, merch stands, and a beer garden.

Dayboro Day Festival

The Dayboro Day Festival returns annually with the Dayboro Antique & Collectables Fair, attracting over 20,000 visitors to this quaint rural township.

June Festivals

Steam Fair

  • Date: Saturday 1 June – Sunday 2 June 2024

Old Petrie Town hosts a Steam Fair with restored steam machines, heritage equipment displays, markets, food, and a Grand Parade of Magnificent Machinery.

Redcliffe Show

  • Date: Friday 28 June – Sunday 30 June 2024

Caboolture Show

  • Date: Friday June 6 – Sunday June 8 2025

Samford Show

  • Date: Saturday 13 July – Sunday 14 July 2024

An exciting and fun-packed show for the entire family, with plenty of entertainment and events, including a freestyle motocross display and bicycle stunt show, fireworks, food stalls, rides and more.

July Festivals

Snow4Kids Festival

Get ready for the coolest event of the year! Snow4Kids Festival transforms Westfield North Lakes into an immersive winter wonderland.

Bonfire Night

  • Date: Saturday 6 July 2024

Bonfire Night at Sandstone Point Hotel features food trucks, fire twirlers, marshmallow roasting, campfire singalongs, live entertainment, flame shows, and pyro displays.

Dayboro Show

  • Date: Saturday 6 July – Sunday 7 July 2024
  • Location: Memorial Showgrounds, Dayboro

A traditional country fair with side show alley, rides, kids’ entertainment, wood-chopping, rodeo, dog show displays, and more. After sunset, don’t miss the amazing fireworks display.

Mac’s Bridge Classic Car and Aircraft Festival

Experience classic cars and aircraft at Mac’s Bridge. Fun for the whole family! In addition to the usual comprehensive classic car displays, there will also be classic aircraft and warbirds.

Abbey Medieval Festival

November Festivals

Caboolture Feasts and Beats

Burpengary Beers and Beats

December Festivals

Woodford Folk Festival

Experience six days and nights of music, performers, craft displays, and the showcase Fire Event, just a short drive north-west of Caboolture.

Sandstone Point Hotel Christmas Carnival

Enjoy plenty of festivities for the whole family, with Christmas markets, food stalls, fireworks, live music, kids rides, entertainment and of course a visit from Santa!

Caboolture New Years Eve Festival
